Wedding website templates: six styles and who they suit
The main styles of wedding website template, from classic to playful, what each suits, how to choose one that matches your invitation, and a quick style quiz.
Most wedding website templates fall into six styles: classic, modern and minimal, romantic garden, relaxed and breezy, grand and luxurious, and bold and playful. Pick the one that matches your invitation and your venue, so the two look like one design. If you are unsure, the invitation style quiz suggests one in six questions.
What are the main template styles?
| Style | Looks like | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | Ivory, serif lettering, gold lines | Churches, hotels, formal days |
| Modern and minimal | Lots of white space, one accent colour | City venues, small weddings |
| Romantic garden | Soft colours, flowers, script | Gardens, barns, spring and summer |
| Relaxed and breezy | Light blues and sand, airy layout | Beaches and destination weddings |
| Grand and luxurious | Deep colours, rich detail | Palaces, ballrooms, black tie |
| Bold and playful | Bright colours, big type | Parties and modern couples |
How do you choose a template?
- Start from your invitation. The website should look like it, with the same colours and lettering.
- Think about the venue. A garden template on a black-tie ballroom site feels odd.
- Check it on a phone. Most guests will only ever see it there.
- Check the sections. The template should have room for the schedule, travel, replies and questions. See what to put on your wedding website.
- Read your text in it. Long names and long venue names can break a tight layout.
Can I change the template later?
On most builders, yes, and your content moves with you. Change it before you send the invitations, so guests see one look.
Where do you find templates?
Every builder has its own gallery. Ours is designed around a matching invitation and website: browse the designs. For the colour and lettering choices behind each style, read wedding invitation styles explained.
